SkillSelect and General Skilled Migration SkillSelect
SkillSelect is an online service that enables skilled workers and business people interested in migrating to Australia to record their details to be considered for a skilled visa through an Expression of Interest (EOI). If you have skills and qualifications that Australia needs, you need to submit an EOI through SkillSelect.
An expression of interest (EOI) is a method of showing your interest in applying for a skilled visa to migrate to Australia. It is an online form in SkillSelect which asks a series of questions about your skills depending on the visa subclass you select. These questions require you to provide information about your qualification/s, English language ability, work experience, skills assessment from a relevant assessment authority, partner skills, professional year, etc.
After your EOI has been lodged, depending on what type of visa(s) you are interested in, you might receive an invitation to lodge a visa application or an Australian employer might contact you to discuss employment and sponsorship opportunities. You can also access your EOI and update your information at any time. Updating your information, such as an improvement in English Language ability, can make you claim more points.
If you provide incorrect, false or misleading information on your EOI, your application might be refused, thus, it is vital that you are completely truthful in the information you provide in the EOI.
Invitations are issued automatically by the SkillSelect system to the highest ranking EOIs, subject to occupation ceilings. Invitations are issued regularly, such as twice a month. If you are invited to apply for a visa you will receive an invitation from SkillSelect. You will then have 60 days from the date of invitation to make a valid visa application online before the invitation expires.
Our Registered Migration Agent can assist you with initial assessment of your points you will need to have to lodge the EOI, assist you with applying for a skills assessment with the relevant authority so you can choose the right skilled occupation for the purpose of EOI, advise you with how to improve the points (whether you are overseas or onshore, holding an Australian visa), lodge the EOI on your behalf, apply for state or regional nomination to claim more points and apply for the visa through ImmiAccount if and when you are invited through SkillSelect.
